Shirley Mae Engel, 94, passed away peacefully after a short illness at Crouse Hospital on May 16th with family by her side.

Shirley was a homemaker most of her life raising 5 children, working early in life at General Electric and later retiring from Eagle Comtronics.

She led life to the fullest being a girl scout leader, talented bowler, snowmobiler and camper during the summer. She also enjoyed playing bingo as often as she could. She helped many by being a 10+ gallon blood donor during her lifetime with us.

She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Wayne C. Engel, her son, Dale K. Engel (Helen) of Sylvan Beach as well as her sister, Joanne York of Sarasota, Florida.

She is survived by daughters, Kathy (David) Hurley, Darla Engel both of Knoxville, TN, sons, Bryan (Alice) Engel of Avon Park, Florida and Kurt of Mattydale, NY along with her sister, Gwendelynn (Clark) Duquette of Elizabethton, TN and several grandchildren and great grand children. She will be eternally loved and missed dearly by all that knew her.
