Patricia A. (Johnson) Salomone, believing in the saving grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, went home recently to eternal life with her Creator. She enjoyed 78 years of enumerable blessings, was happily married to her best friend and "partner", Paul, was a loving and sweet mother to Susan and Christine and was a cherished grandma to six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
A farmer's daughter wed to a NYC romantic humorist of Sicilian heritage, Pat was a gentle, charming and loving person (ready to help anyone in need) who had a hearty laugh. Except when reading historical novels, her hands were always busy creating, knitting, crochet and in recent years, quilting. For decades, she baked hundreds of cookies and candies at Christmas time for neighbors and friends. And, as a member of the Plank Road Quilting Guild, she made several well-crafted, exquisite quilts for her children and grandchildren.
In her early years, she was a church librarian, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a regular participant in S.U.'s Women's Association. At home she canned fruits and vegetables, made clothing for her children and herself, caned chairs and stripped paint from oak and mahogany beams and paneling. In mid-life, she traveled (with her husband) to 20 countries, including Egypt (3 months), Italy, China, Peru and New Zealand. She also loved touring this wonderful country with her family or best friend. Most recently, they visited Philadelphia, Gettysburg and Quebec City. She was a beautiful and extraordinary woman.
Pat leaves behind, for a little while, her life partner, Paul; her daughters, Susan Stephanie Salomone (Jean Marie) and Christine Marie Salomone Murray (Andrew Peter); her grandchildren, Jayne Marie Salomone (Adam Revette), William Gabriel Salomone Murray, Samuel Michael Salomone Murray, Matteo Jerome Salomone, Mia Jayne Salomone and Jacob Matteo Salomone. The latest to arrive is great granddaughter, Gianna Mae Revette (9 Months old).
In addition, we especially thank Pat's sister, Janice Mae Paulson for her very kind and generous help and her brother, Gordon Russell Johnson for a visit to attend and comfort The Lady. Those who wish may make donations to either Hospice of CNY or Francis House. The date and time for a memorial service, to be held soon, will be commuicated to friends via email, Facebook and telephone.
