John Easton, born on January 9, 1956, passed away on April 14, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by his family.
John built a long and respected career as the General Manager of SMR Fibre in Liverpool, New York, a division of Empire Recycling Corporation, where he dedicated nearly 30 years of his life. He was known for his work ethic, leadership, and the respect he earned from those who worked alongside him, where he also formed some of his closest friendships.
John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought strength, humor, and warmth to those around him.
John was quiet by nature, but those who knew him best understood his sharp wit and unmistakable sense of humor. He had a quick, dry, and often sarcastic way of looking at the world that brought laughter to those around him. He was often the glue in conversations and within his family, steady, present, and always listening.
He was the first person to show up when someone needed help. His generosity knew no bounds, and he cared deeply for those close to him. Whether through his actions or his words, John made it clear that family came first.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeanne Easton, the love of his life; his parents, Frank Easton and Christina Thoma; and his sister, Linda Noftsier.
He is survived by his children, Stephanie Coufal (Travis), Dylan Ross (Kayla), and Zachary Ross. He was a proud grandfather to Alyssa and Adelyn Coufal, who brought him immense joy.
John is also survived by his siblings, Jim Easton (Bonnie) and Cathy Easton.
He leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, including Brian Noftsier, Laurie Kirkwood (Matt), Becca Sayyeau (Dave), Sarah Easton, and Elizabeth Easton (Cory), along with their families.
A celebration of life will be held privately by the family.
John’s legacy of loyalty, humor, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
