Eugene F. Addison, 70, was died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 1, 2019, in his home in Mattydale, New York. Born November 19, 1948, in Syracuse NY,
Gene was married for 38 years to his loving wife Carol (nee Lape). He was the father of Jennifer (Jordon) LeBlanc, Jennifer (Cory) Fujimori, and Hannah Kelly. The apple of his eye was his grandson Julian Fujimori. He is survived by his mother Frances Palumbo, and many other family and friends.
Gene was a survivor, having faced death on multiple occasions, he lived a hard life, particularly over these last several years. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2015, which added to his burden. But Gene was a veteran, a Marine serving in Okinawa during the Vietnam War, and a fighter until the end.
Gene was a lover of music- a singer and songwriter. He loved cooking- he fiercely protected his recipes from even his closest family. His friends and family will forever miss Gene.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 5 at 4 PM, held at Erwin First United Methodist Church, 920 Euclid Avenue, Syracuse, Rev. Dr. B.J. Norrix officiating. Friends are invited to meet the family at a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe account has been set up to benefit the family, entitled the “Gene Addison Memorial Fund”. Further donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
