David R. Thomas died unexpectedly Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, NY. He was the son of the late James "Fizz" Thomas and Ersilia (Twitty) Thomas of Erie, PA.

He was a graduate of Technical Memorial High School in Erie, PA. He moved to Manhattan, NY and lived there for 27 years. He worked in the manufacturing industry. He relocated to Syracuse in September of 2011. He worked as a dental lab assistant at Removal Dental Labs and several other dental labs in upstate  New York. His hobbies were fishing, bicycling and sports and was a New England Patriots fan.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Jimenez-Thomas of Syracuse; daughter, Tonisha Lofton of Georgia; sons, Michael Richard Thomas of Manhattan and Jeremy Jimenez of Syracuse; grandsons, Markell Graves of Warner Robbins, GA, Terrell Flemings of Marietta, GA, Joseph Kennedy, Jr. of Kennesaw, GA and Jordan Kennedy of Douglasville, GA; brothers James (Michelle) Thomas of Denver, CO, Stephen (Courtney) Thomas of Syracuse and Craig Thomas of Erie, PA; sisters, Marsha Thomas, A. Anne (Jerry) Prince all of Erie, PA; one aunt, Venola B. Clanton of Erie, PA and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held in Manhattan.

So very sad to hear about Dave's passing, he was a great guy and will be missed. Our thoughts are with his friends and family. Rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about David. We will miss him. He had a big heart. His advice was valuable at our trustee meetings at Gethsemane church. Much love from us to Denise, Jeremy, and the family. Hopefully our paths will cross again. Love, Ray and Maryann Kribs
